Industry visits by the students of the Master in Plant Sciences

Master in Plant Sciences: a strong connection to the socio-economic world

The Master in Plant Sciences aims to train scientists capable of addressing major challenges related to plants and crop production. To this end, it relies on close ties with stakeholders in the socio-economic sector, an approach actively supported by SPS.

To prepare the students for their future careers in plant sciences, the Master in Plant Sciences regularly organize visits to industrial sites. Allowing the students to observe the internal organization of private companies and the applied research conducted there, these visits strengthen the practical component of the program. Furthermore, they foster the development of lasting links between the programs and the companies, paving the way for internship and job opportunities.

SPS (Saclay Plant Sciences) demonstrates its commitment by annually contributing to the funding of these educational visits, such as:

  • a visit to Bayer Seeds (Boissay site), a global leader in plant breeding and seed production, to explore the latest innovations in R&D (M2 Plant Sciences – Research and Professional Tracks);

  • a visit to Arvalis’s Digiferme (Boigneville) to study the nutritional management of field crop species (M1 and M2 in Plant Sciences).

By supporting these events, SPS provides excellent training to future engineers, researchers, and executives in the field of plant sciences and biotechnology, ensuring a connection with the socio-economic and industrial sectors.
