Meet our Master's students - Baba Diop

Baba Diop, a senegalese student who graduated from a Master in Plant and Microbial Biotechnology at the UCAD (University Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar), is recipient of an SPS scholarship and has joined for this acadamic year 2025-2026 the M1 in Integrative Biology and Physiology - Plant Sciences at the Paris Cité University.

Portrait Baba Diop

I chose the Paris Cité University for its academic excellence. I was particularly attracted to the Integrative Biology and Physiology program in Plant Sciences because, having already studied in this field, I want to deepen my knowledge and discover new techniques. This program will enable me to consolidate my expertise and prepare effectively for my professional career as an engineer in an applied research center or a private company.

What I find the most innovative about the Master’s is the chance of choosing the courses to follow during the second semester. This allows me to adapt the training program to my interests and helps me making a choice between the Professional and Research track for the M2.

As an international student, I’m well integrated and the SPS scholarship helps me adapt to the new environment.

For the year 2026-2027 I’d like to enroll in the Professional track “Innovation and Quality of Plant Products” of the M2 in Plant Sciences because it fits perfectly with my interests and its professional focus is particularly appealing to me. Moreover, it is fully consistent with my goal of becoming an engineer specialized in the improvement of plant production.
