Master's students' portraits - Damien Curtius

Meet our Master's students - Damien Curtius

Damien Curtius, a French-German student with a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from the University of Strasbourg, joined the M1 of the Master’s program in Integrative Biology and Physiology – Plant Sciences at the Paris-Saclay University for the 2025–2026 academic year, where he is supported by an SPS scholarship.

I chose the Paris-Saclay University for its national and international reputation and prestige. What attracted me to the Plant Sciences Master's program were the courses offered and the internship opportunities. Both will help me in pursuing a career in Plant Biology research. In addition, I had a very positive feeling after the interview for admission to the program.

The aspects that I find the most innovative about the Master’s are the contact we have with the professors, which is very enriching, the teaching approaches and the international environment

The courses, although comprehensive and demanding, are presented in a clear and intuitive manner, and succeed in delivering useful and applicable knowledge.

The variety of the backgrounds of the students I have encountered and the openness to international perspectives provide opportunities for personal and academic growth.

For the next academic year, I would like to join the M2 – Research in Plant Sciences because it is in line with my goal of pursuing a PhD.
