Master's students' portraits - Léa Dehedin

Meet our Master's students - Léa Dehedin

Léa Dehedin, a French student who completed a Bachelor's degree in Life and Earth Sciences at the University of Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens) and who was awarded an SPS scholarship, joined the M1 in Integrative Biology and Physiology – Plant Sciences at the Paris-Saclay University for the 2025-2026 academic year.

" I chose this Master's program because of its reputation in the field of Plant Biology and the courses offered. I was particularly attracted to the courses on plant-microorganism interactions and plant physiology, as well as the good training in molecular biology techniques, as they fit perfectly with my professional goal of pursuing a PhD in the field of plant-microorganism interactions.

The aspect I find most innovative about the program is its highly practical and comprehensive approach. The courses combine theory and experimental work in the lab. In addition, the projects based on real research issues are particularly useful for preparing for a PhD.

Learning in an international environment allows me to improve my English while promoting scientific interactions. For example, the pedagogical project involving exchanges with students from the Master's program in Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology at Ghent University*** was a very enriching experience.

This summer I will be joining the SILEG team at the Institute of Plant Sciences Paris-Saclay (IPS2) for an internship. My project will focus on symbiotic nodules and nitrogen nutrition.

Next year I would like to join the M2 - Research in Plant Sciences, as it represents a continuation of my project and will effectively prepare me for a PhD. "
