Goals

Illustrate the main methods used to study a gene or protein (experimental methods and in silico tools). Define a relevant biological question based on existing data on a scientific topic. Propose an experimental plan. Be able to construct a query on AI tools to produce a summary and be able to identify and correct errors. Be able to produce a scientific figure with captions and explanations and present it orally.

Perform a synthesis of scientific data; search for reliable sources; present scientific results, communicate orally; master basic biology laboratory techniques and know safety rules

Content

Study of an accession (searching bibliographic and biological databases, bioinformatic analyses)

Practical work on computers and basic techniques in molecular biology

Format

Supervised project (each student studies a gene or protein suggested by a researcher). They review the current state of the art, perform additional analyses (in silico), and then identify a relevant biological question.
