Goals

International interactions are essential in the field of plant research, as scientific progress increasingly relies on collaboration and knowledge exchange across countries and disciplines. Participating in the organization of an international conference offers students a unique opportunity to engage directly with the global scientific community. Through this experience, they will develop valuable skills in scientific communication, project coordination, and teamwork, while gaining insight into how international research networks operate. Attending and contributing to such a congress will also allow them to present and discuss cutting-edge scientific advances, broaden their professional horizons, and strengthen their ability to work in an international context—an indispensable asset for a future career in plant sciences.

Skills

By the end of this teaching unit, students will have developed the ability to:

- Collaborate effectively within an international and intercultural scientific team.

- Plan, organize, and manage the logistics of an international scientific conference.

- Communicate scientific ideas clearly and confidently in English, both orally and in writing.

- Engage in scientific discussions and critically evaluate research presented by peers.

- Strengthen teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills in a professional research context.

- Expand their understanding of international research dynamics and networking strategies.

- Demonstrate autonomy, adaptability, and professionalism in a multicultural scientific environment.

Content

The international student conference will be organised in collaboration with foreign European master's students (Barcelona, Ghent, Gdansk, etc.) and will focus on an innovative aspect of plant biology research
